If you’re trying to create video content for VR, you need a 360 degree camera.
These cameras work by stitching multiple images together, and generally use a very wide lens so you have a great field of view. Cheaper cameras will have “blind spots” which means they have areas where the camera cannot reach, and thus those spots will not appear when you use a VR headset.
From looking at the options for VR cameras, I really have only come across 2 good candidates when comparing price vs quality.
VUZE
- Great field of view, but some stuff will get missed
Sphericam 2
- Automatically stitched
- Expensive
- 6 cameras
- Best field of view
